I am wondering if anyone has heard anymore on the SD WiFi card from SanDisk.
A look at their site doesn't even show Palm on the roadmap like it used to.
It seems a shame that no one has come up with an SD WiFi card for Palm users
yet.

Yeah, we really haven't heard much from them since they announced that
their card would destroy the SDIO hardware on some Palm PDAs. Maybe
their lawyers pointed out to them that they'd be buying a lot of
people new PDAs, or their engineers had to go back to the drawing
board. Either way, don't hold your breath.

Some other vendors are possibly planning an SDIO Wifi palm release soon.
Hopefully they can get on the ball that sandisk dropped.
I have tried and given up getting online via bluttooth. its just pointless.
it won't work.

Nothing new has been learned since SanDisk's announcement in mid-December
that the driver would be out during the first quarter of this year. Here's
the article if you missed it:
http://www.brighthand.com/article/SanDisk_Explains_Delay_of_Wi-Fi_SD_Card
SyChip -- the actual developer of SanDisk's card -- has announced a version
of this card that uses less power, and can therefore be used with Palm OS
models that don't provide sufficient power to the SD slot. It is not known
when this one will be commercially available. Read more details at:

In other words: Don't hold your breath.
I'm surprised not to see the OQO Fullblown-Windows-running PDA on the list,
as it's been announced as "Real Soon Now(tm)" for years.
Duke Nuke'm Whenever is no longer on the list, as it won a well deserved
Lifetime Achievement Award.
Next year, I propose we vote in the promised lawsuits from Bill Warman
Inventor over his fish finder weather protection patents. ;-)

I just set my T3 up to surf using my Bluetooth phone, following a hard reset
as things had got a bit iffy. I used the Phone Link application and it all
worked first time in a sort of "wizard" fashion. Setup took only a couple of
minutes.
I confess I have had no success trying to use my laptop as an internet
gateway, as the laptop is connected via a router and the network can't have
two devices with a 192.168.0.1 IP address. I'm not too network savvy so
there is probably an answer I'm unaware of for setting up a LAN network
connection. But certainly I can use my phone modem for a DUN connection from
the T3 without any problem for surfing. Assuming a DUN connection is your
wish, have you downloaded the latest phone drivers from the web?
BT to PHONE is usually not an issue. its BT to laptop to internet (or
desktop)
its a nightmare.
alas I do not and will not any time soon have a BT phone.
I just love my sanyo 6400 too much.
sprint has ONE bt phone the T608 not only do I not like it but I also
connect my laptop to the internet and spring but a 3mb a MONTH limit on the
T608. making it utterly useless.

The easiest way is to use a Bluetooth Access Point (e.g. Belkin F8T030).
There is no setting up and no software to install - just plug it in your
router, pair with your Palm and start surfing! You only need to install
software if you plan to use its print server.
Belkin website used to have refurbished BT access point for half the
price; they ran out after the holidays.
Not the cheapest, but definitely much easier for those who encounter
problems.

I already have a BT dongle so I tried to make it work (pain in the ass
freaking gadget)

On the other hand, using BT intead of cradles and cables for file transfer
and synching is great.

I understand your frustration on setting up BT, but disagree
that it don't work. BT on Windows was relative simple, all you
need is some basic networking knowledge. BT under Linux was
fairly difficult but also very fast and stable!
Maybe ppl in this NG can offer you some advice? Just ask!
Sony Clié TG50.
Piloteers do it on the road
For me, BT allows me access from most rooms in my house and I am satified;
and it certainly works more than 15 ft for me. I have heard users
reporting that some Class 1 BT Dongle gives even better range such as the
newer version of Belkin F8T001 (the one without the flip up antenna).

I very satisfied with BlueTooth, at home I own a TECOM BT access point
(class 1 device), I can use my laptop in most rooms using an USB
bluetooth dongle, my Sony Clie T665 uses Sony's BT MemoryStick and works
fine.
The access point was bit difficult to configure, I must disable the
automatic IP assigment in order to get it working right with my Clie,
but on the net I got the right answere.
For me the perfomance is good enough for internet access and local
printing through the access point.
