Found Compaq Rebates (have extras) DUE 12/31/97

I happened to be by a Computer City last night and was able to track
down
one of those Compaq rebate books. They wouldn't give it to me until I
showed
them proof that I had purchased a Compaq item, but they probably aren't
as
stringent at all of the stores. I was also able to pick up a few from
Best Buy,
so you might want to try hitting those stores.

NOW, I have found out that these rebates (as well as nearly all of the
other
rebates in the booklet), DO expire on 12/31/97. Before there was some
confusion on if the date just applied to purchase date. However, if you

read the front of the form it says 'offer expires 12/31/97', which I'm
assuming means that everything has to at least be postmarked by that
date.

I have at least one extra book, possibly two, if anyone needs them just
drop me a line and I will mail the CD and rebates to you. Not sure if
it
will get there in time, could possibly try overnight mail to save on
time.

Also if anyone is interested Computer City is offering 33.6k modems

at 89.00, but then offers 80.00 in rebates, 8^).
