Hi,

my Clie fell on the ground and now I can't turn it on any more. Does
anyone know more about this and can help me?

1) Visually, there is nothing broke. It just doesn't turn on anymore.
Could I open it and fix it by myself? What could I look for?

2) My plan is to buy the same model again so I can use the backup of
the data on my PC. Will Hotsync save the backup data on my new Clie or
will it give an error message (maybe because of missing
authorization)?

3) In case HotSync won't work, is it possible to take out the memory
and install it into the new Clie?

Thank you so much for your help!!!

Seems to be broken. A million things could have happened during a drop. How
can any one help you unless a) we have it in our hands to examine it. B) We
are knowledgeable in palm repair.

When you drop anything, does it always brake or smash the same way? No. So
it would depend on what broke is to whether it can be repaired of not.
Again, a million things could have broke during the drop.

All you have to do is hotsync the new one and use the same hotsync name as
the old one. Pretty straight forward.

Hi,

I could get my Clie to work again. I don't know why, but what helped
was a Reset and putting it back in the craddle. The fall on the ground
must have made my battery totally empty so the Clie wouldn't turn back
on. After resetting it and charging the battery it works just fine.

Thanks for trying to help me!
