Hello,

Is there anybody out there who can help me ?

I want to compress the FLASH memory on my
EXP Thinfax 1414-LXM 2MB card.
I have a DoubleFlash+Plus Card which uses
STACKER 3.0 to compress the memory.

It should be possible to do this! - BUT HOW ?

Every hint makes me happy!

Thanks
Dirk

There are two ways to set it up. First of all, do a chkdsk and get the size on your flash card. The, on your PC, create a container
file, in otherwords a 'stacvol.sys' file the approximate size (less the size of stacker.exe and the readme.stc) than the flash disk.
Remove the attributes from the stacvol.sys file and copy it to your flashdisk. Reset the sytem attribute (I think) and viola. Execute
stacker and away it goes. This is the stacker anywhere method. You can set up stacker.com in your config.sys, but I am not the
expert on that. I used this method with my smart flash/modem for awhile, but then I switched to the JAM. I use this in my 200LX. I
also JAM my ramdisk. Works pretty nifty.

Try the EXP web page (WWW.EXPNET.COM ?) They have a FAQ / Tech Services
section which describes how to do it with stacker 4.0. Or look on the STAC web
site (WWW.STAC.COM ?) which also has instructions on how to stac a palmtop.

I have my EXP1414lxm 4mb card stacked to 10mb w/STACKER 4.1, works great!
