I have bought a Oric Atmos 48k without power supply.
I would like to know how the engineering specifications to put it in march.

Thanks and sorry for my english.

Hola.
He comprado un Oric Atmos 48k sin fuente de alimentación.
Me gustaría saber las especificaciones técnicas para ponerlo en marcha.
¿Puedo ponerle una de Spectrum que va a 9v?
Gracias y perdon mi inglés.

You need an ordinary unregulated power supply that can output 9V
at 650 mA. Any 1000 mA wall wart will do. Be careful to match
the polarity. It's (-) outside, (+) inside and not the other way
around !

Maybe, if it can handle 650 mA and the polarity is right.

I'm afraid a ZX Spectrum supply has the reversed polarity, because once
I tried to use one with the adapter for my keyboard, and it made terrible
humming noises which I think means "game over". That machine was halfway
dead anyway. My Yamaha PA-4 power supply (used with a PSR-36 keyboard)
has 10V, 1A and the polarity it seems an Oric would use.

Best plan would to buy a selectable voltage/polarity mains supply. They are
usually easy to get from electronic stores and not that bad priced.

Yes they are - reverse them and they work. I think the early Spectrum PSUs
are OK, but I'm not sure about the later +2 and +3.

Could be the voltage regulator. (three legged thing next to the power
socket). You can change these fairly easily and they are quite cheap.

It want to be thankful to that they have helpedme.
The Oric works, I know it because I hear a noise when tightening a key.
But I have not been able to see it in screen.
Somebody knows which is the suitable channel?
For the Spectrum the channel is 36, and for the Oric Atmos?
Thanks to you another time and sorry for my english

Hola
Quisiera agradecer a los que me han ayudado su ayuda.
El Oric funciona, lo sé porque oigo un ruido al apretar una tecla.
Pero no he conseguido verlo en pantalla. ¿Alguien sabe cuál es el canal
adecuado?
En el Spectrum es el 36, ¿y en el Oric Atmos?
Gracias otra vez y perdonenme este inglés tan malo.

Yep, also the channel 36 when you use the UHF socket.
But idealy you should use the RGB output, and connect the Atmos
to the Television using a SCART (Peritel) cable. The resulting
picture is totaly different: bright, colorfull, nice...

Yes, the problem with the Oric screen is that it need tuning in using the
adjusters underneath the Oric. You have to get a picture to tune it on the
TV. If you have no picture you are trying to tune to a blank screen.
If you can find the blank screen then you may be able to see what you are
doing enough to make the adjustment underneath.
The SCART option produces a far better screen output. Check the diagram on
Mikes website .
Can't remember the link but it is on here

It is far better than my Spanish!
As others have said, as long as the current and polarity are OK, you should be
fine. However, the Oric will run cooler if you bypass the regulator (a 7905,
if I remember rightly) and supply regulated 5V directly to the circuitry; the
power supply from a scrap (AT type) PC will be fine, though capable of
supplying many times the power needed, so a fuse might be a good idea.

If the Oric is made for the French then you will need a TV that is
SECAM.
Channel 36 is correct. You may need to finetune.
