Interesting article.
Personally I believe the mouse will still be around for awhile.
Yes, touch screens and so on are helpful, but not the best for detailed
work.
Recently I aquired a Dell Notebook, and I am slowly getting used to the
mousepad on it, but far prefer using a mouse.
In the end of the day, it still controls a pointer though.
