I've got a NorthStar Horizon 8/16 chassis, just this week I was able to boot NorthStar's flavor of TurboDOS on it. I'm currently working on getting the Hard Disk set up, just booting from floppy now. There are 3 UP-8 Z80 user cards in the chassis so this was a 3 user system. Has anyone else out ther played around with TurboDOS on a Horizon?

Nope. Just NorthStar DOS and CP/M here.
Would like to hear about your progress though!

Well, I got thru the install onto hard disk, trickiest part was selecting the right hard disk to use from the N* DOS hard disk formatting utility. I didn't have the N* documentation for TurboDOS so a few trials and errors and some educated guesses based on their marketing materials and the right disk formatting routine was found. After that the install was all automatic, the boot disk contained all the scripts necessary, just launch the installer and sit back and watch the status messages roll by as it copies all the files into their proper locations and wait for the prompt to insert the next floppy.

I haven't had much luck getting additional user accounts added to the system, even though there are extensive help files included in the install that explains how to do everything. Following the instructions doesn't seem to produce the results. I wanted to play around with sending email and instant messages between the different user terminals, but step 1 to doing that is getting the user accounts set up. I may take another crack at it.
