I'm (unfortunately) not a NS/OpenStep user (yet) even if I still
have original brochures from NeXT (1991) and I was considering trying to
find OS4.2 since I now have some extra sparc hardware. I have a few questions:
- Is OpenSTEP 4.2 for sparc a real Operating System? (I know SUN released
some libs and binaries for Solaris but that's probably not OpenStep 4.2) I
think the answer is yess but I'm not 100% sure.
- If it's a real OS, does anyone know where to find OpenStep 4.2 for
sparc? I've been able to find some companies selling the x86 version but
not the sparc version.
- Also, I heard the black hardware has 13W3 connectors for video output.
Does anyone know if they provide the same outputs as SUN 13W3 connectors?
I.E: would it be possible to connect a SUN monitor to a NeXT Cube?
PS: Thank you for reading so far.. Please CC: me a copy by email if you
reply to this post since I am not a frequent reader of this newsgroup
(yet). :)
