Unfortunately I can't find the right key combination, as Right Command
+ the tilde key (which is behind Alternate) as well as Right Command +
Alternate + Tilde Key both do nothing.
Any suggestions?

yes. The 'tilde key' on a US-keyboard is the leftmost one in the top
row of the 'conventional' keyboard, i.e. directly above the 'tab key'.
Try that. On the other hand, the most 'magical' key (in combination with
others like 'command' and/or 'alternate') is the upper- and leftmost
key on the numerical keypad - the one where 'numlock' is located on
the usual PC-keyboards. I believe - but am not quite sure - that this is
where NeXT positioned its 'tilde key'.
[With most companies, and thus with NeXT too, they're often implying a
US-keyboard in their descriptions and mostly don't care about other
layouts. On the other hand it's typically the position(!) of the key
that is most cruical, not it's inscription on the keycap.]

Good look,

Anyway, congratulations! It is not easy to put hands an a cube outside
the US (or does the cube travel over the atlantic from Europe "back
home"?)
