Avantgo type app for Newton?

Is there an Avantgo type application for reading news (not Usenet) from news
websites, on my Newton? This application is one of the few reasons that I
keep using my Handspring Visor. I find it very convenient to syncronize my
Visor and get all the day's news to read on the go. If I could find a free
application like this for the Newton, the Visor would probably find its way
onto eBay!

Just wondering if no one knows of a program or if noone saw my post. I'd
like to move to my Newton full time. The Message Pad 2x00 and keyboard are a
perfect combination for taking notes in class. If I could carry the news on
it with an AvantGo-type program like I do on my Visor, it would probably
replace my Visor. I've looked at a few Newton websites, but I haven't found
anything yet. Any tips, hints, suggestions?

TIA

AvantGo will not release the protocol to create a Newton version (I tried.)
Your best bet is to use Raissa, or use Newtscape with a scheduled download.

In general, you will get a faster and better answer to your questions on
NewtonTalk (www.newtontalk.net) than you will here. You might also want to
search the NewtonTalk archive for discussions about AvantGo.

It's a shame. It is a wonderful program. Maybe we can start a
letter-writing campaign to make them either release the code to Newton
developers or produce a version in house. I'm all for it if the rest of the
Newton community is up to it.

If you mean, Raissa at http://www.40hz.org/Raissa/, I will most definitely
try it.

Thanks for the suggestion of NewtonTalk also. Thanks again.

Cheers
