I also have a Newton Fax Modem I don't intend using, and I've put it on eBay
if anyone is interested...

I am currently using Newton Connection Utilities under
Windows 95. I got it from http://philly.unna.org/unna/
Here's the direct link:
http://philly.unna.org/unna/apple/connection_utils/ForPC/
I don't remember how to install it on a Newton that
doesn't already have a way to copy over files, though.
A friend of mine used some clever tricks to install
NCU on my Newton, but I was unable to follow what
he did. It did seem to involve the use of a program
called "Newton Press", but that's as far as my recall
goes. :(
I'm still in the throes of trying to get my MP2x00
onto my ethernet network.

The Dock application is in ROM on the Newton and doesn't need to be
installed.

No trick. It's already there.

Newton Press is a desktop application used to create and install
Newtonbooks.
