The archive of comp.sys.ncr and of contrib software that were
available on ncrinfo.ncr.com are now no longer available. The machine
has been shut down. Space on www.ncr.com has been made available and
should I find a little spare time the contrib software will appear
there. I also hope to update some of the GNU software. I apologize for
any inconvenience this might cause.

Last week I tried to download the new gcc from ncrinfo.ncr.com and
couldn't reach the server -- now I know why.

I wonder if these are good news or bad news. I'm developing my software
on NCR System 3300 using all the GNU Tools and so ncrinfo.ncr.com was of
great help for me (don't have to compile it all by myself). What was the
reason for the change of the location?

I hope the new server will be as good as the old one and that we don't
have to wait too long for it. Please, Mike, would you send an
announcement to this group when the new server is up and running?

A last question: Did you ever compiled the egcs compiler successfully on
NCR System 3300? Which egcs version? Will it be available on
www.ncr.com?

Thank you for your time and your support, Mike.

Well, if this archive gets reestablished it won't be by me. I've
submitted my resignation and soon will no longer be associated
with NCR.

Sorry, but I won't be able to. I'm leaving NCR and I've left it up to
management to decide when and if the archives will be resurrected.

Mike,

I'm very sad to hear that you are leaving NCR. I would like to thank you
for maintaining ncrinfo.ncr.com. It has been a great help for me in the
past and surely for a lot of other people, too.

I send you best wishes for the future and your new job, where ever you
are going (hopefully not Microsoft...). Good luck!

Can you tell me, if there are any other places on the net, where I can
find infos about GNU software on NCR systems? Do you know some people,
who are using GNU software on NCR systems intensely, so we can exchange
experiences (E-Mail-Address)?

Sorry, I don't know of any. Try posting here or in one of the gnu.*
newsgroups.

I have compiled and used almost all GNU softwares on NCR MP-RAS (2.03 and
3.02) intensely. I think I'm happy to share my experiences (or my packaging)
if I can. You can contact me at Tanes.Sri...@Thailand.NCR.COM.
