Anyone could tell me how I can save games in Metal Gear 2? I have
tried files as -driveA but with no luck. If I choose option 3 of the
save menu it says it has successfully saved the game but when I try to
load it again I start at the beginning of the game again.

Im playing MG2 and i have no problems with save game. Just put a
formatted disk in drive A (or B) in MSX format, or create a image file
(.dsk) empty, but formatted in MSX format, and use -drivea option.
Remember: when you load a saved game the game restore in the begining of
the level (and not in the same point of save!).

That should be -diska
Marcel
Hi
I guess Metal Gear 2 works with SRAM also, because I've never used
-diska option at the command line and I can save and load games
without any kind of problems
.Am I right Marcel de Kogel ?
Thanks people for all the replies! Yesterday I figured out why saving
files didn't work with MG2. The extension of the filename I gave as
parameter with -diska didn't end as '.dsk'
Apparently fmsx looks at the extension to deteremine the structure of
the file.
See ya,

At least the DOS and Unix versions do not, just make sure you're only
using letters, numbers and underscores in your filenames

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe you are. The game does
save to disk though, and since fMSX loads two disk images (DRIVEA.dsk
and DRIVEB.dsk) by default, you don't need to use the -diska option,
just format the default disk images (use CALL FORMAT when in BASIC),
and you might have already done this
Marcel
Well at last I can save games in MG2, but what good does it when I
can't load them the next time I play the game!?!?! Getting really
depressed.....
