Hello!
If your 738 have the same power connector as the 728 the pins are:

0 0
0 0

1 2
3 4

pin 1 and 2 AC 16V 0.8A
pin 3 and 4 AC 9V 1.5A

It's different, it's a simple plug (3,5mm?) and original values are about:
16,8 V (AC) and 2,0 A. But the 738 is not very choosy for it's voltage.
I tested it on a lab and it worked just well without diskdrive with
10 V!. If you don't find original power supply, you can use something like
16-18 V supply, but remember that ampers should be near that 2,0 A.

An other idea is to strip the PSU inside the 738 and use a standard (external)
PSU (Like one from a PC) with +/- 12v and +5v. It's not hard to figure out how
to connect this. The internal PSU is seperated from the motherboard iirc.

it is a 16v Ac power pack you can use an IBM 16v dc to run it fine.. i have afew of these.. the 728 had the old 328/318 power pack (4 pins)
