MAC OS-X v 10.75
Firefox v 20.0

In my preferences in Firefox I have block-pop up windows checked but I
continually get pops-up windows... particularly surveys. How can I
stop this?

Use a Javascript blocker (it's javascript that's responsible for your
rogue popups) or a browser that really does block all popups when asked
to, e.g. Camino.
