What mechanisms are available for a shareware author to collect
shareware fees online? Assume the fee is low (say $5 - $10), and
the number of people who will actually pay is small, so setting up
your own credit card account is not cost effective. Are there
companies who will accept credit card payments on your behalf (for a
cut)? Are they accessable from the web? How about "e-cash" or similar
outfits? Advice, anecdotes, or pointers greatly appreciated!

describing. I use their service, and I am totally satisfied. (Actually,
more like "delighted.") My sales went up significantly because of the
convenient payment options that Kagi offers my customers, while my time
spent dealing with payments went way down.

I have no connection with Kagi Shareware except as a satisfied client.

I use "Digital Money" for some commercial software I have written and
have been very happy with their product and support. One of it's
biggest advantages is that you can build the registration screen
directly into your app. The user can pay with Visa, MasterCard, AMEX,
Discover, Cash or Check. Registration can be done via modem, voice,
e-mail or mail. They have a 24 hr. operator to take orders via their
800 number. I highly recommend them!

Visit their web page at www.digimoney.com.
