Boot from a PC-Card?

Just thinking. I hate HardDisk - Sounds (Leftover from 128k days, sop!)

I heard there are PC Cards with sort of RAM (EPROM, EEROM?) in them. Can I
boot a Mac from such a card, thus leaving the HD sleeping till I back up at
the end of my session? This would be a reason to buy a PCMCIA-Dock for my
Duo....

Yes, if you take a PCMCIA flash card (or hard drive card) and put a system
folder on it and set it as the Startup Device, the computer will boot from it.
