Just wondering if any Duo users have tried the newly released
GV Mercury Modem. Is the software really that much better than
the Apple's ExpressModem?

I am thinking of getting one... ;)

Thanks for any information!!!

I just had one installed last week, after using an Express Modem for the
past 9 months. It零 better in some ways and worse in others. The software
is better; it has a very nice status bar that emulates modem lights and
tells you what零 going on. On the other hand, it seems to have more
trouble than the EM keeping the PPP link up, and I don靖 know why. Am
working with Global Village to try to come up with a cause.

It零 a mixed bag. I鉅 recommend that you don靖 do anything yet until we
hear from more people about their experiences.

Good luck in Australia! It'll be months before the phone company
approves it.
