I would like to rent/borrow a duodock or floppy for 10min to reinstall
my system due to crashers. will pay about $10.
I am in Southern California(Los Angeles area,San Fernando Valley )
any help is appreciated.

I would go to a local Apple dealer. If they won't let you borrow a display
dock, in the store, for longer enough to reinstall the system, I'd call
1-800-SOS-APPL and complain about them (there's probably a more official
number for registering complaints about Apple dealers, but I don't know
what it is).
