Hey folks-
I need to find a source for PB 100 batteries. It seems that the
one in the pb I just bought is dead, so I need to find another internal.
If anybody has been able to find a place that stocks the _internal_
battery for the _pb100_, I would greatly appreciate the phone number,
as all the usual mail order places don't have them.

Also, if anybody cn give me a pointer to the file that describes
how to fix the broken ac port on the pb100, I'd appreciate that also.

Thanks in advance!

The Apple service department at any Authorized dealer can provide
Powerbook 100 batteries, although they are "service" parts with a 90 day
warranty, not new parts. Also, BTI makes a low capacity battery for the
Powerbook 100.

Apple has ordered over 10,000 new PB 100 batteries from its supplier in
Japan. The batteries should be available in a few months.

Apple's battery uses an unusual high capacity cell that is not available
except to special large orders.

emphasis on 'low capacity'...I'd be surprised if it lasts longer than say
90 minutes with most power-conservation features enabled. I'm
disappointed with it, but still, it is better than not having a battery
at all, or one with only 10 minutes in it.

The weight-difference between the BTI and the Apple PB100 is quite
remarkable as well. Apple's is much heavier. Oh well.

I thought that Apple had discontinued the PB 100 battery? Have they
reconsidered?
