i bought an iMac MB419 last sunday (running Snow Leopard).
I own a couple of laptops (an old PowerBook G4 and a white 13inches
MacBook) and, on both of them, I can low down the screen luminosity
until it's completely black. On the iMac, luminosity indeed decreases,
but the screen is never black. Is there a problem here, or is it
normal? As it's my first iMac, I really don't know about this.
Also, can I use my MacBook's remote control with the iMac? Will I use
to install some drivers?
Thanks
Jonathan
That is normal for the newer iMacs. You should be able to use the remote
as is.
The only Apple product in I can recall ever needing a driver install is
the new magic mouse. I'm unsure why they didn't roll the driver into the
OS *shrug*
You will need to pair your Apple remote with the other Mac, though.

Didn't 10.6.2 include the MM driver?

Dunno - but every person I know who bought a Magic Mouse had to download
and install the driver. When did 10.2.2 arrive? I still use 10.5.8 you
see.

10.6.2 came out on 9th November and it looks like the MM came out
around 30th October.

Heh, I meant 10.6.2 of course. Well that explains it then - Apple
couldn't be bothered sending out an update just for the MM driver, so
they waited and rolled it into an upcoming patch.
