My wife's iMac is set up to show random photos from iPhoto. Every
once in a while it loses iPhoto, and when we go to set it up again,
iPhoto isn't on the list.

Instead, it has her whole computer, so we might not notice it at first
until it picks up photos from the browser cache.

I go into system preferences and sometimes iPhoto is available to be
selected - sometimes it isn't. We had it in the Genius bar for a
different issue and mentioned it - the genius opened it up and iPhoto
was there to be selected. But today it isn't.

Anybody have any suggestions about what happens, or how to get it to
find iPhoto again?

Howard, is iPhoto on a different drive that the OS? If so that drive

No it isn't.

I just now deleted com.apple.screensaver.plist and set it up again. I
don't know whether that just fixed it now, or whether the problem will
resurface.
