CAP without Hardware bridge

I'm interested in running CAP between Suns and a Mac IIx w/ethernet card,
but am NOT interested in buying a Fastpath or Gatorbox. It seems to me
that there's no real reason why a UNIX box can't act as a bridge between
EtherTalk and CAP.

I've grabbed "uab" from cunixc.columbia.edu, which seems to be more-or-less
what I want, but it needs a bit of work to use it with CAP. Has anyone
gotten CAP and UAB working together? Has anyone managed to use CAP and UAB
without a hardware bridge?
