Of course Apple could build iPhones in the US ... they'd just cost
twice as much to buy, just like Teslas useless care are massively
over-priced compared to Asian-made cars. :-\

You are an incredible Troll. Capital costs in the US are lower than in
Asia. The production does need almost no manpower. Unit costs per iPhone
would be roughly the same as in Asia.

And btw: A Tesla is roughly half a cetury more advanced than an ordinary
Chevy, Ford or Chrysler. Outside the US nobody wants the crap.

What an imbecile!

Of course building the iPhone (and anything else) requires manpower ...
that's why Apple's manufacturing partners keep employing more and more
workers, reportedly making them work longer hours, etc.

Besides which, manpower is only part of the manufacturing equation.
There's also the cost of the building (buying or renting), the cost of
installing and maintaining machinery, the cost of taxes, the cost of
the electricity, water and waste dispoal, etc., etc.

All of these costs are much higher anywhere in America than they are in China.

Nobody with an actual brain wants a crappy Tesla. Unfortunately the
average human is incredibly stupid* and Tesla's useless, over-hyped and
over-priced cars are selling well pretty much everywhere. For example,
today's newspaper here in New Zealand has an article about the Tesla
Model 3 being second on the top sellers list for September.

* For a start you just have to look at the number of morons who believe
Tesla cars are able to full self-drive.

actually, many do, which is why it's #2 best selling vehicle in new
zealand, according to *your* claim below.

compared to you, they're all geniuses.

overpriced products aren't top sellers, thus it cannot be overpriced.

the only 'hype' is from people who actually own one.

very few think that, who find out the hard way why it isn't 'full'.

however, it's self-driving abilities is a lot more than zero.
