My imac has a habbit of setting the modem as the default sound input
device?
I change it back to the built-in-mic but after a while the buzzing
returns and the modem is set at the default input device again :¬(

Im running OS9.2 on a 2001 500Mhz model, any ideas?

TIA
Reedy

Does the buzz sound something like a detuned refrigerator? :P

Anyway, try zapping the PRAM (Command-Option-P-R at startup, wait for
the chime to sound 3-4 times). You could also try throwing away the
Sound Preferences (not sure if that's the exact name).

Good luck

Several fixes have been described in this newsgroup in the past. Because
of that, you may want to search through the "Google.com" archives. I changed
the subject title to more clearly state what you're looking for, so maybe
someone else will have a better answer for you. Good luck.
