Is there a public domain or shareware application that
allows the Mac to print a file that has been saved in
the Postscript format.

Thanks,

Valid PostScript files can be downloaded to a PostScript device to
output using a variety of utilities, including Adobe Font Downloader,
Apple LaserWriter Utility, etc.

You can also interpret PostScript with Adobe Distiller (included with
Adobe Illustrator), to get an Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format)
that can be viewed with Acrobat Reader (Freeware) and printed from there
to a PostScript printer.

Check out an info-Mac site for a program called Drop PS. It
works great for printing postscript files.

Which only works if you have a Postscript printer. Laserwriter Utility
that in installed with any version of the laserwriter driver also sends
postscript directly to the printer.

If you need to print or view a postscript file and you don't have a
postscript printer get MacGhostscript. It is a free postscript
interperter that was just updated. It can both preview and print
postscript to any printer or the screen, or a couple of graphics formats.

David, I would like to get a copy of MacGhostscript. I am
intrigued by the VIEW feature. I have looked at my usual mac
site and cannot find it. Can you point me in the right
direction? Thanks.
