Thanks, Bruce
This is a fairly common problem with the earlier 14" Color Plusses.
Apple just started a repair extension program that covers this problem,
meaning that your friendly neighborhood Apple Authorized Service
Provider can replace it for free, even if it's out of warranty. The
program runs from June of '95 through July of '96. Some AASP's seem not
to keep very up to date on repair extensions, so you may need to tell
then about the program/get them to look it up/etc.

At the Mac service shop I worked at until recently, we called these
monitors "disposables". However--you might give Advantex a call at
1-800-553-5703. We sent the color pluses that came into our shop to them
for repair. They do good work at reasonable prices. You can UPS to them.
Hope this helps.

Advantix in Redwood City (SF Bay Area) will fix the monitor for about $135
or so, i forget the actual price. The power supply is a notorious problem
with the color plus. That, in addition to the fact that the image is
really soft. I reiterate what i said in another post, the sony 1425 14"
monitor is a much better buy. 2 year warranty, about 50 bucks more, and a
trinitron screen
