They also had a 68030 that could handle up to 14MB (when Apples 100,170,
etc only allow 8), up to 120MB HD, etc. They got killed when Apple
started getting resonsable about their prices. They turned everything
over to PerFit (in Boulder, Col) which continues developement of upgrades
(but no new systems).

Info on Outbound, their products, some support software (including the
driver control panels and extensions!), and info on their successor
company, Purfit, can be found by anon ftp at:

ftp://xochi.tezcat.com/Outbound

tezcat communications has no affiliation with Outbound or Purfit, and we
supply these info and driver files merely as a service to the users
of what we consider a good line of now orphaned computers.

I have a RealTech 14/80 with an 030. Rather nice, 'cept it's broken.
Anyone know who can fix the silly things? It's basically an Outbound
under a different label.

I found an illegible number for Perfit, who repairs Outbounds. The number is
(303) 530-2333 (2 might be 7) - I think. :)

Good Luck

Again,

ftp://xochi.tezcat.com for info files on the Outbound

laptops/notebooks including sales, repair, etc. info about Purfit.

The number, as you say, is a 7. Purfit's sales/order/repair info line is:
(303) 530-7333.

They also have a BBS after 6PM Mountain time, at (303) 530-5273,,33,33.
Use those commas. :-) It's a First Class BBS, but may be used with an
ordinary term program instead of the first class client program.

Or maybe they changed their name...

From what I remember, Apple bought out Outbound; there was a big hassle
because the Outbound machines needed Mac ROMs, and Apple made a big stink
about it. Finally, Outbound sold out to Apple, if I remember right...

Nope. Outbound went belly-up after Apple dropped PowerBook pricing to
become competitive and continued to sell Outbound ONLY SE ROMS at high
prices. Outbound attempted to break into the IBM-compatible laptop
market, but failed before they could do so. Their interest passed to Purfit.

Info on both available from ftp:
