VGA monitor on a IIci

I'm thinking of buying a used macintosh IIci for myself, can I use the
VGA monitor from my old 386 on a IIci?

only if its a multi-sync monitor. Most pc-monitors aren't and you'll run
it out of band ..

If its a nec multisync it will work perfectly. Macs really dont use standard
vga monitor frequencies for some lame reason
