I keep on reading about a hack for HD Setup or something like that?
Where exactly can I find this hack? From what I gather it will let me format
SCSI harddrives not sold by Apple ?

In the disk-file directory of your favourite mac mirror.
Try
ftp://ftp.ucs.ubc.ca/pub/mac/info-mac/Disk-File/
or its derivatives.
