Minimum external interface is FW800. Can have SATA & USB also.
Looking for recommendation (not pages of Google results -- those I can get
myself).
Either a product you've had good results with or a hardware distributor
you've had good experience with.
Thanks.
I've been using this bridgeboard...

...for over a year now. I currently have two 3TB HDs in a RAID-1
configuration hooked up to it.
It's designed to go right into a case that had the old Centronics 50-pin
SCSI connectors. Which is the type of case I used. Found one with a 1 GB
5.25" full height HD, so the power supply should be perfectly capable of
running two 3.5" HDs and the bridgeboard.
They have a similar model that supports SATA Port Multipliers so you
could easily hook up multiple drives if you had the right case.

I myself only use enclosures from OWC - both single and dual bay from
the Mercury series, and have done this since 1998 without a single crash
or broken FW bridge. Two of them are running 24/7 as backup and have
done for years. Note, that there are enclosures for both IDE/ATA and
SATA disks.
