Hello.

Is it me or does Disk Utility app crash a lot when doing partition
tasks? Crashes (unable to see, spinning pinwheel cursor, not responding
(stuck), etc.) when creating, resizing, and formatting partitions
(exFAT, encrypted AFPS, & encrypted HFS+ with journal) with two
different external USB Seagate HDDs (old 500 GB and new 5 TB) and two
13" Intel CPU based MacBook Pros. (2012 Mojave v10.4.6 and 2020 Big Sur
v11.1). I even had it crash macOS and not seeing the internal SSD which
scared the frak out of me (a reboot fixed it). I had to reboot to fix
these crashes).

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

I ave not partitioned a disk in more than a decade. There is absolutely
no reason to do so.

I have not had DU crash in a non-beta OS for a similar period of time,
though probably less.

but then a lot of nice things turn bad out there

Well, I partitioned the external USB HDDs so I can have multiple file
systems for various computers and devices (very old to new).
