Microtek MSF-300GS Scanner w/PowerMac 6100/60AV

I just bought my first Mac system and the seller "threw-in" the subject
scanner and advised it won't run with OS-8 or other systems, because it
is an old unit. Shall I scrap it or is it worth any investment at all
in trying to use it, or is there a market for it. Thanks

NOTE: The ScanMaker Plug-In version 2.04 is not compatible
with Adobe Photoshop version 4.0 or Macintosh OS version 7.6
and will not scan correctly on any PowerMacintosh model.

As I remember older drivers would give me grey scale under 7.6.1
