Need parts for a G4, the lid, or the display?

Somehow, the hinge part of the lid of an aluminum G4 Power Book broke
for a friend of mine, and he is looking to buyy the outer lid, or
perhaps the whole display. Or perhaps a whole aluminum G4 sold for
parts. Does anyone have one??

Are there other newsgroups or forums where this post is more likely to
work?

BTW, the wire between the two halves broke also, and he has doubts
that he can reconnect the wire. Is this really hard to do? I at
least have plenty experience in soldering and mechanical repairs, but
he says the wire is really thin.

I figure if we can't solder it, we can run a new wire????

That "wire" is either the antenna or a part of the display connections. Highly
unlikely that it can be repaired (the wires are just too tiny), but you may be
able to replace it.
