I bought a Logitech G600 since I found the occasional twitchy
scrolling of Apple's Magic Mouse irritating.

My assumption was that I'd program the customization on my son's
Windows 7 gaming machine and bring it in to work and just use it, but
several things aren't working:

- scrolling horizontally seems to require a 3rd party driver ---
trying SteerMouse for the moment, but will probably re-try USB
Overdrive --- is there some other option? I'd prefer something
opensource.
- the side buttons which are currently mapped to the numeric keypad
(or <control>keypad) aren't recognized by InDesign in the Paragraph
Styles keyboard shortcut area (seems to be 'cause I need to map them
to <command> and/or <option> and/or <shift>)

You have the names of the 2 more widely used 3rd party mouse
drivers.

It has been a while since I used a Logitech mouse, but I thought
they provided their own Mac OS X drivers.

Then again before I switched to a Magic Trackpad (which I love
when used with BetterTouchTool), I was using a Logitech Mx 9
button mouse. Because at the time I did not like the Logitech
driver, I was initially using USB Overdrive, but it would not map
all the buttons. I then switched to Steermouse and was using that
until I got the Magic Trackpad.

But like I said, I gave up mice and switched to all Trackpad using
BetterTouchTool to customize the gestures giving me more control
actions than I could get with my 9 button mouse.

Thanks. Logitech doesn't do a driver for the G600, and it's not
recognized by their software. Was hoping I'd missed something, but I
guess not. I'll have to puzzle out which I prefer, though I really
wish that there were some control software which would be as
functional (or moreso) as Wacom's button assignments. What I really
want is:

- assign keyboard shortcut for switching to the text tool
- input left mouse click at current position
- keyboard shortcut for applying paragraph style

I've puzzled out the keyboard assignments, so now just need to work
through the tedium of assigning 48 more keyboard settings.
