Bluetooth earpiece for Mac & cellphone

Pro and my cellphone (currently an LG CU400.) It seems like a
earpiece with multipoint should be able to switch back and forth
between the two with no problem. The primary use of the earpiece
will be hands free use of the cell phone, but I'd also like to be
able to use it for things like Skype on the Mac. While I want
reasonable audio quality, I don't intend it use it to listen to
music. I'd be interested in recommendations about BT earpieces
use with Macs.
I'm kind of looking at Plantronics Voyager 520 or maybe the
Voyager Pro. Also the Motorola H710.
I'd love to be able to buy just the earpiece & USB charging
cable, without having to acquire another damn charger. I have
plenty and most often charge from the MBP anyway. Sadly, the
industry seems intent on including an AC and/or car charger
with most headsets I've seen. :/

My Laptop AC/DC Power Supply/Charger has replaceable Tips (Connectors)
and one of them is for my Motorola Cellphone and Bluetooth Headset.
Tip cost $5US.... so one system charges Laptop, (Black MacBook) Motorola
Cellphone, BlueTooth Headset, and also reTired Gateway 2000 laptop.
(MacBook running XP via BootCamp, and Parallels, replaced the Gateway)

So, what BT headset do you use? Do you use it with your MB?

Motorola HS850, and Yea, it does work good with the MacBook.
I use it with Skype and iChat in Video Conferencing all the
time as well as with my Old Motorola V-551 Cellphone.

How neatly does it switch between cellphone and Mac?
Do you ever pair the cellphone with the Mac?
Some of the Plantronics specifically state that they will pair with more
than one device, and respond to whichever device wants to make use
of the headset, "Multipoint Technology". The HS850 guide indicates that it
will automatically pair to the last device where it had paired previously,
but accept pairing from some other device.

I haven't had much luck with that on the HS820 or H700.
Works fine with a PC, works fine with a cellphone, but doesn't do both very
well.
I use a USB headset with the PC, because the audio is so much better than
the Bluetooth devices that I have tried.

Mine pairs with the last device I used, untill I re-pair it with a
different device. since I really don't travel much, my cellphone is
paired with a BlackBox that connects it to a third Telephone Line in the
cabin. This box allows us to pair up to three Bluetooth Cellphones to
this third line and use our regular Three Line Phones to place and
answer calls from our Cellphones. Up here in the bush of Alaska, our
cells are a lot bigger and farther away that you FlatLanders have. My
Cellsite is 16 Miles away on top of a 3500Ft Mountain, and we use
external High Gain Antennas to keep our Bars. Some folks even use the
Bidirectional Amplifiers that are for sale, to keep their cellphone
connection working. AT&T wireless is just completing our 3G equipment
upgrade and they expect to have it online by New Years,
One can only hope. My iphone is looking forward to seeing that.....
I use my BlueTooth headset with the laptop mostly, and sometimes with my
MacMini that runs as the Home Entertainment Server with a 40" LCD, and
WebCam, with Skype, and iChat. Audio quality is just fine.

That's what I saw. I found it cumbersome to switch back and forth,
certainly not something you could do to alternate between answering a Skype
call and answering a cellular call.
I'm also in the sticks, cell-coverage-wise. No plans for 3G that I know of
around here. I'm five miles from a tower that is hidden by hills, and 12
miles from the tower that I think I am using.

Me too. Got a Motorola H710 as a gift. Works with both, but I
haven't figured out what the deal is with switching without getting
all "tangled" up.
