Howdy all:

The production department I work in use Broderbund's TypeStyler for quick
'n dirty type stylings and tweakings. Unfortuantly its no longer published
so I'm looking for a replacement application or Quark XTension that will
offer similar effects and ease of use (we've 40+ operators to train it on.)

TIA

Try the Envelope extention for FreeHand... It is not as good but it is
enough.

Strider Software on its web site keeps promising a Type Styler upgrade during
the first quarter of 98. (I think it was supposed to be set for October of 97
but System 8.0 arrived just in time to break it.) Next they said January of
1998, and it seems to me that the last time I looked they were still saying
early 1998.

Strider Software has re-acquired the rights to TypeStyler from Broderbund.
We've been working on a hot new version and plan to release TypeStyler III
in March.

The new version created all the effects illustrated throughtout our
website, including transparency, soft and cast shadows, embossing, glows,
picture fills and more.

We've also expanded the feature set of TypeStyler III to include
Photoshop, Illustrator EPS, JPEG, and GIF export formats.

Users of older versions of TypeStyler with problems running on newer
machines or systems, or those of you who would just like to try a version
out now, are welcome to download our current public beta, TypeStyler 3b2.1
at <http://www.typestyler.com>.

Regards,

Ken Stillman
