I am a Playstation Wipeout fan. I have Wipeout and Wipeout XL (Wipeout
XL is the same game as Wipeout 2097 which has been ported to OS X) for
the original PSX and Wipeout Fusion for the PS2. I just purchased the
OS X version of Wipeout 2097.

It's clearly rendering in 16-bit, dithered color. This is apparent both
on my iBook 700 with Mobile Radeon and my DP G4 800 with GeForce 3. I
looked at the config file in the game dir but it's not editable via text
editor.

Anyone know how to kick this to 32-bit? I know the orig PSX game was
16-bit dithered, but one would think the OpenGL port could be run at
full color depth.

BTW, the speed is great on the iBook 700 and, of course, the DP G4 800.
Still...somehow...it's more enjoyable on the old 33MHz Playstation.

Didn't realize Wipeout was ported to Mac OS X. Or are you talking about
the emulator from Connectix?

Wipeout Fusion was released for the PS2 a couple of months ago. Solid
game but not the same impact as techno and the industrial design no
longer seems so novel.
