Daedalus Encounter- Planet Puzzle

I solved the planets puzzle once using this method:

>1. Move the largest planet to the front (straight down from the sun).

>2. Move the most earth-like looking planet (the lighter of the 2 medium
>sized ones) to the back. (ie-straight up from the sun; may have to move
>*slightly* to left or right of sun so that the 5th planet lines up
>vertically with sun)

>3. Now move the smallest planet up or down so that the 5th planet moves
>into position over the sun.

>(note: I have done this 5 times and this method works every time without
>fail)

But I didn't get the orb. I've gone back many times and tried to do the
puzzle again but it won't work. I cover the sun and nothing happens. I
have all the orbs and the claw is sitting on the floor near Zack and Ari.
What do I do???????

I'm stuck looking for orbs as well, but surely the large
sculpture/creature gave you the first orb near the planet puzzle? i.e.
I don't think there's another orb to get, 'up' in the desert world
scene. please correct me if I'm wrong
