Eric's Ultimate Solitaire is a great solitaire game. Although I'm Eric
so why believe me? If you want to try out the demo, you can get it
from Sumex or Umich. The demo plays a game called "Eight Off" which is
one of the 17 solitaire games that Ultimate Solitaire plays.

Nahhhhh. I tried the demo and it looked very nice. The only drawback about
your game is...well.....the price. It's about $40US mailorder after tax
and shipping. Don't misunderstand me. I'm am not saying that your game
is too expensive. I just can't justify paying that much for it. I'm
sure the other games play very well but all I want is one that plays
solitaire like Klondike does (7 card columns, get all the cards on the
four aces. you know).

Klondike irritated me because of the scoring system.

What I think would be the ideal solitaire game (for me!:) is one like
that which I used to use on a Sun SparcStation. I culd be wrong but
I think it comes with the OS. It was nice, simple, and to the point.

I use Eric's ultimate. It has many!! different games on it. I think the
best is called Montana. It'a a game that you would never play with a real
deck of cards, but is plenty of fun on the Mac.

Is there not a Klondike game somewhere on FTP?

"Hi, my name is Paul, and I'm addicted to SeaHaven Towers..."

I don't know what it is about this game, but it is the most
addictive solitaire game I've ever encountered. It's like
potato chips, when you sit down, it's impossible to "just
play one game". It's ruined my health, my eyesight, and
the only reason it hasn't ruined my marriage is because my
wife is addicted too.

Well, if Eric can plug his solitaire, I suppose I can plug mine. :-) Check
out the demo version of "Solitaire Till Dawn" at mac.archive.umich.edu or
one of its mirrors. If I say so myself, it's a good, solid package. Fewer
games than Eric's, but it probably has your favorites (whoever you are!)
plus a couple of surprises, and the price is right.

Best one I've found is a shareware called Solitaire 'till Dawn, available on
most popular archives. Includes Accordian, Calculation, Canfield, Klondike,
Miss Milligan, Quadrille, and Spider. It's $25 to register, and can be ordered
registered from Semicolon Software, PO Box 371, Cupertino, Ca. 95015-0371.

I too seem to need a healthy hit of Seahaven Towers every day. However,
for the last several months I have been getting it through Eric's
Ultimate Solitaire. It is one of the 17 games in EUS under the name
Towers. I prefer playing it there since the EUS cards are clearer, game
play is crisper and I can switch off to other games very easily.

My wife and I have tried out just about every solitaire game available
for the Mac. EUS is the clear winner as far as I'm concerned. I
regularly play about half of the games and still intend to check out some
others. My price for it was only $25, an offering Delta Tao made to
registered users of Eric's shareware games. Good product, good company.

Excuse me? Someone asks about a solitaire game and you think neither Rick
or Eric should be able to provide the infor just because they happen
to have written some Shareware games? I wouldn't even consider this
post to be an ad.

By the way, I looked at Erics program, and it's pretty neat. If you like
playing cards on your computer, I'd recommend it. And just for Jim's sake,
I've never written a shareware card game.

There is a good one called Seahaven Towers, it should be somewhere
on Sumex.

P.S. Eric, everything depends on how good your game is :-)
