After reading and re-reading all of the messages exchanged aboutmy initial
gripe posting about Cyclone, I've come to a couple of conclusions.

1) Cyclone is a very good rendition of the arcade game Star Castle. (I've
never disputed this.)

2) The programmer(s) are incredibly sensitive about their product and seem
to dislike, or at least disapprove of, anyone complaining about their
product. (This comes from several back-and-forth postings which have
resulted from my initial gripe.)

3) Even though Cyclone claims to have an "arcade mode", it is not entirely
accurate to the arcade game, regardless of whether it's played on a
IIci/LC3 or a Centris 650. (The programmer(s) claim to have resolved some
of the problems, most notably the instant-thrust problem, with a version
1.1. I haven't seen 1.1 yet so I can't say for certain.)

For the record (and this message *IS* the absolute last I have to say
about this game, as it takes entirely too much time to point out and
re-point out points of discussion, which is what I've been doing for
several days now), I like Cyclone. It's a good game. I don't think it's
unfair to compare Cyclone's "arcade mode" to the real arcade machine
since, by definition, the "arcade mode" is supposed to be nearly identical
to the original - or as close to the original as you can reasonably get.
I've also discovered that it's not a good idea to mention problems like
this to The General Public since the programmer(s) may catch wind of it;
see point #2 above.

If anyone cares to respond to this, don't.

Hmm, I wonder where the articles you've been reading are? I've been
following the Cyclone discussions, and I haven't once seen the
programmers act like you claim they have. On the contrary, they've been
quite open to all kinds of comments and have been quite willing to
discuss future changes that will fix some of the things people don't like
about the game. They've also been quite willing to say what things will
NOT be changed, and as someone who is just getting into writing shareware
games, I understand that this is not unreasonable.

Someone needs a lesson in reverse-.net-psychology.

Key word here, maybe if you watch the way you phrased your dislike,
and made it more of a suggestion instead of a gripe, they wouldn't
have taken any kind of a sharp tone.
