If any of you remember that old game called Taipan for the Apple ][, in
which you sail the south Pacific selling Opium, Silk, Arms, & General and
fighting & bribing Li Yuen, there's a pretty decent online (text) version
at bbs.ilbbs.com . Just telnet there & log in as "guest" to play.

And now, some trivia:

* No, the reverse-interest trick wasn't intentional. It was a bug in the
Apple ][ port from the original TRS-80 version.

* Batavia was the old name of present-day Djkarta.

Is there a sharware game of Taipan for Win 98?

playing the bbs version is ok... but really really slow. the palm pilot
version goes faster IIRC.
