This is to voice my dissatisfaction with Elendil Fa'ril's wheelings and
dealings. Let's get down to business: Elendil favors manipulative
psychological techniques over honest discussion. It is probably unwise to
say this loudly, but it looks like there is an implicit assumption here
that it would be more productive for him to take a more diplomatic and
conciliatory approach. So let me make it clear that Elendil, impetuous
smart alecks, and a few decent but occasionally pugnacious people are
engaged in a desperate struggle for the soul of society. In order to
understand the motivation behind his proposed social programs, it is
important first to fight scurrility and slander.
This is abject McCarthyism! Even if Elendil's facts were reliable, they
were gathered selectively and then manipulated towards favored
conclusions. Let me back up a little: Elendil's cringers do not concern
themselves much with the people around them. How did Elendil get so
closed-minded? I have my theories, but they're only speculation. At any
rate, Elendil can't discuss anything without talking about nihilism.
Of particular interest to me is the way that he continuously denies that
it can be distinguished only with difficulty which of his advocates act
out of inner stupidity or incompetence and which only pretend to for
whatever mumpish, flippant reason. Maybe you, too, want to pigeonhole
people into predetermined categories, so let me warn you: We live in a
deeply troubled society. With all due respect, there is a problem here. A
large, childish, counter-productive problem. The popularity of Elendil
Fa'ril's tirades among hypersensitive brazen bullies is a harbinger of
deluded things to come. And that's all I have to say.

My complaint about Carl Hommel
Something is happening here, and I'm getting a little worried. Let us note
first of all that this is no time to be cantankerous and no time to be
unforgiving. It is reasonable to infer that it looks like for his own
sake, Carl Hommel should not damn this nation and this world to Hell. I
will never identify with what I call money-grubbing hoodlums. Carl's
campaigns have reached a depth of degeneracy that was virtually unknown in
the past. Which brings me to my point. Exactly what is Carl trying to
hide? His perceptions of a vast conspiracy lead him to inappropriate
assessments of even the most innocent interactions with the most goofy
jerks I've ever seen.
And what about his hired goons? They, like Carl, are what I call immature
whiners. Even those few who benefit from his insinuations fail to
recognize their current manifestation as an antihumanist debauched form of
pessimism. His fixation on alcoholism is nothing more than camouflage for
a lack of original ideas. Carl uses the term "chlamydobacteriaceae" with
ostensible confidence that its meaning is universally understood. He feels
no guilt for any of the harm he's caused. Surprisingly, the courts and our
elected officials are way ahead of him in embracing this simple fact.
A critical reevaluation of some of his activities would unmistakeably be
beneficial. The sun has never shone on a more iconoclastic and dimwitted
person than Carl Hommel. This is explicitly or implicitly expressed or
presupposed in most of the material I plan to present. My argument gets a
little complicated here. It's not just the lunatic fringe that's in Carl's
corner; a number of previously-respectable people have begun backing him.
Raising the volume, increasing the stridency, or stressing the
emotionalism of an argument does not improve its validity. While we all
despair over Carl's stupid assertions, we must also remember the
principles that will guide our better behaviors and higher aspirations.
Under these conditions, all people, including saturnine worrywarts, ought
to be kind and sensitive to one another. In short, it is easy to see from
the foregoing that the popularity of Carl Hommel's protests among the most
sinful social outcasts I've ever seen is a harbinger of mischievous things
to come.
I love it. :)

Durn,
About two months ago I was going to do this with Joe and then never got around to
it.
