If someone's AOL login name is My Login, then to e-mail to them,
send to myl...@aol.com (drop everything to lower-case, remove spaces,
and append @aol.com). For example, my AOL login is ErikAJ, so to send
e-mail to my AOL account, one would send to eri...@aol.com
Erik A. Johnson \ Internet: john...@uxh.cso.uiuc.edu \ |

Aero/Astro Engineering \ "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and \ |

Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) \ the Father except through me.'" (Jn14:6) \

Yes. The format is <screenname>@aol.com. Eliminate any spaces in
the AOL screen name, so CE Software would become "cesof...@aol.com".
us...@aol.com wil work. Don't try sending any files, though.........

The suffix for sending mail to AOL is "aol.com". To send mail to
me, for example, you would first find out my screen name which
happens to be "SDSU Aztec". To get a hold of me from the Internet,
my Internet address would be "sdsu...@aol.com".

just send to the AOL account on the machine aol.com. For example,
to send to the account info, you would send to 'in...@aol.com'

One other caveat. Messages coming from the outside world into AOL will be
truncated to 27K. I can't recall whether or not outgoing messages are subject
to the same truncation. I believe they are.

Not the same, but similar -- outgoing is limited to 32k (or is it 30k?).
During the beta test of the gateway they were considering the possibility
of placing the portion of an incoming file >27k into a file attachment
that the AOL user could then download (I did suggest that they should put
the entire message in the attachment so the user wouldn't have to cut and
paste to combine the parts). They may add that at a later point if they
feel it is an important thing to do.
