The Good News:
Apple recently posted an update to their Bluetooth software (Bluetooth
1.5) - which claims to have Bluetooth printing capabilities. After
installing this update, I now have the option to configure a Bluetooth
printer in the Bluetooth setup utility.

The Bad News:
When trying to setup my HP DeskJet 995c through this utility, it fails
- telling me that no driver is found. I downloaded the latest driver
package from HP - but still no luck. My guess is that HP's driver
software for the Mac is not yet compatable with Mac Bluetooth
printing. So now the ball is in HP's court. Hopefully, someday, I
can print wirelessly to my printer from my Mac. Sigh. :-)

If anyone else has had better experience with this new Bluetooth software
from Apple, please let me know.

Cheers,
Lon

Anyway....
Acting on advice from a posting in Apple's Bluetooth Discussion Group,
I updated the firmware of my HP 995c printer. And - Voila! Bluetooth
wireless printing from my TiBook! Wooooo Hooooo (okay - a bit too
much excitement?)!

Now - to update the firmware of the printer, you need a WinDoze PC and
a USB cable. Luckily, I had both and it was fairly easy. I then had
to delete my previous printer definition. After that, the Bluetooth
setup utility was able to find and install the HP printer!

Hope this helps someone out there in Cyber-land-ville.

Cheers!
