I have a one-cell table that I want to hide, but can't figure out how
to hide it.

(The reason is that it contains the sum of a number of tables, and I
use that sum in a number of formulas in other cells, and I don't want
to have to use the sum formula in all of those cells when I can use
just one reference.

Assuming your Numbers spreadsheet only has a single sheet (containing
multiple tables), a simple solution is to create a second sheet and put
any calculation-only tables on that.

When you print the document, the default is to only print the current
sheet. (You can also choose to print all sheets.)

Note: I'm talking about Numbers 2.x (Numbers '09). I haven't used the
new Numbers 3.x enough to get a feel for whether it has any changes in
this area.

That will work. My workaround was to put the table behind an opague
pie chart.

No problem; I don't intend to print anything from that document.

Thanks.
