I haven't found my MS Office DVDs yet, so on my new MacBook Air,
I only have Pages. I opened in Pages an old Word file and wanted
to convert a table to paragraphs, but I can't find any such command.
I found a discussion from 2008 or 2009 on the Apple Support site
that mentioned a "convert table to text" command under the Format >
Table menu, but I see no such option in the current version of Pages
(5.5.3). Has that feature been removed from Pages? If so, I'll go back
to my iMac and convert the table there with MS Word.

The most secure way to do this is to download the 14-day demo of
NisusWriter Pro <http://nisus.com/pro/>. It is fully working in the demo
period.

- Drag the MS file to the NWP icon.
- Mark the full table by selecting all table contents.
- Go to menu 'Table' and select 'Copy Table Contents'.
- Open a new NWP file and insert the copied contents using COM+V.
- Save the document as (nearly) whatever you'd like to - fx. RTF.

You may lose some formattings, but not necessarily.

NB. If the table also contains graphics, you'd best save into DOC
format, though NWP handles graphics in the RTF format, but MSWord
doesnot handle graphics in RTF.

Cheers, Erik Richard

Chris and Erik, thanks for confirming that this can no longer be done
in Pages. Weird that Apple would have removed that command.

I just saved the file back into Word, converted it on my iMac, and put
it back on the Air. All A-OK now.
