Does this mean that people getting their news from xkcd are not as
well informed as people getting their news from The Daily Show?

They are on the same level in the directon of "who would win in a
fight". The lion, according to that chart, is superior only in the
dimension of "coolness of name".

Of course, the "same level" bands in the "who would win in a fight"
seem pretty broad and approximate. And, of course, the "coolness of
name" is just completely made-up...

The levels correspond to genuses. The label on the left says that the
genuses are ordered by fighting ability, not the species within them.
So I guess it's intended to be an average for the genus.

Based on what I hear people say about 10.7, "Mountain Vista" would be a
good name for 10.8.

(The 10.7 upgrade at work is long over and it's still cursed several
times a day for having an awful GUI, dangerous auto-save, bogging down
on disk I/O, and being total waste of time. It reminds many of forced
Windows Vista upgrades.)

out hope!

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

I can't wait for Stephen Colbert to come back from vacation, so he can
put that cat in his Threatdown segment.

Sigh, I was afraid of that, but didn't bother to check the date. It
turns out he DID pick up on it at the time:

http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/181966/june-13-200

But he didn't put it in the Threatdown, he did it as an extra bit just
before signing off.
