Hi all

I downloaded a PDF document from the internet and it is a few hundred
pages long. I would like to be able to transfer a few pages over to my
iPod Touch. I know how to transfer the entire document using a program
called files, but do need the entire document. Is there and easy way
to copy just parts or pages of this PDF document, so I can transfer
them over to my Ipod Touch?

Thanks in advance
Michael

On your Mac choose Apple-P to print the document, select the From: and To:
pages that you wish to save, and then (from the lower-left button
of the dialogue box, PDF) select Save as PDF.

You will need to do this multiple times if your pages are not contiguous.
Tools such as PDF-Combiner are great for pulling multiple PDF docuemnts
into one.

Preview/File/Grab/Selection might be one way if you have not got a PDF
program that can export pages.

I tried this, but I get the following message. "Saving a PDF file
when printing is not supported. Instead, choose save"

Thanks that seems to work for me.

Preview should be able to do that, depending on what version of Mac OS X
you are using.

In Preview, use Print, select the pages you want, then hit Print as PDF,
and select an appropriate file name.

That is (in 10.4.11, anyway):

1) Open the PDF document **in Preview** (that is, use "Open With" in
the Finder; you get that using Ctrl-Click -- NOT Cmd-Click -- or Right
Click if your mouse has two buttons, on the document icon).

2) Use Find >> Print **in Preview**.

3) Select the pages you want to print **in that Preview Print window**.

4) Click the "PDF" button **in that Preview Print window** and select
"Save as PDF".

5) Complete that Save process.

6) Finally, after that Save is complete, select "Cancel" at the bottom
right of the main Preview window (so that you won't print the entire
document you've opened in Preview.

In the current OSX, open the PDF woth Preview, delete the unwanted
pages in the sidebar, then use "Save As" from the "File" menu.
