Just a heads up - take a screen shot or somehow note your podcast
subscriptions. iTunes 12.0.1 spontaneously unsubscribed me from 14
podcasts - none of which had any current episodes downloaded at the
time. It did keep me subscribed to three others; all ones that had
eposides currently downloaded.

It also seems to change the default settings to "Delete Played Episodes:
On".

Neither of those happened for me.

My default delete option is still "Off", and each playlist didn't change
its settings. I do get a yellow banner in each playlist saying "Episodes
from this podcast can now be automatically deleted after you have played
them", with a Learn More button, but that setting wasn't enabled
automatically.

My subscriptions didn't change either.

I wonder why its behaviour is not consistent?

Sorry, I forgot that I started with a fresh Library in iTunes 12 after a
failed attempt to revert to version 11. So "Delete Played Episodes"
seems to be the default option. I think it's a bad one, but I've never
been as enthusiastic for streaming as Apple seems to have become.

iTunes has really become a mess, the dog's breakfast of Mac apps. I'm
now looking for an alternative podcast client.

It looks like the answer is no.

Older post, I know, but iTunes started unsubscribing me from podcasts and won't let me re-subscribe them. Any help anyone?
